RISE UP: STRATEGIES AND INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS FOR TEACHING AND LEARNING RECOVERY

About Course

This online course aims to equip educators with practical strategies and instructional materials to support students who have experienced learning loss or disrupted learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic or any other reasons. Participants will explore ways to create a safe and supportive learning environment, assess student learning needs, differentiate instruction, and use targeted instructional materials and resources. They will also learn how to engage families and communities in the learning recovery process and create a learning recovery plan.

Course Objectives:

Understand the impact of learning loss on students and the concept of learning recovery
Create a safe and supportive learning environment that promotes student engagement and motivation
Assess student learning needs and identify gaps in knowledge and skills
Apply differentiated instructional strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students
Select and adapt targeted instructional materials and resources to support student learning recovery
Engage families and communities in the learning recovery process
Create a learning recovery plan tailored to the needs of individual students
